I tried to climb the mountain today. As I inched my way up the path, I felt overwhelmed, so I had to turn back.

I tried to climb the mountain today. On my journey, darkness started to fall, and I was full of fear, so I had to return to a safe place.

I was ready to climb the mountain today. But it was so hot outside, I thought I better stay in my nice air-conditioned house and rest up for tomorrow’s attempt.

I was about to climb the mountain today. But I had so many other things to do, so instead of climbing the mountain I took care of much more important tasks. I washed my car, mowed the grass and watched the big game. Today the mountain will just have to wait.

I was going to climb the mountain today. But as I stared at the mountain in its’ majestic beauty, I knew I stood no chance of making it to the top, so I figured why even bother trying.

I have forgotten about climbing the mountain today; until a friend came by and asked me what I was up to lately. I told him I was thinking about climbing that mountain some day. I went on and on about how I was going to accomplish this task.

Finally, he said, “I just got back from climbing the mountain. For the longest time I told myself I was trying to climb the mountain but never made any progress. I almost let the dream of making it to the top die. I came up with every excuse of why I could not make it up the mountain, but never once did I give myself a reason why I could. One day as I stared at the mountain and pondered, I realized that if I didn’t make an attempt at this dream all my dreams will eventually die.”

“The next morning, I started my climb.” He continued, “It was not easy, and at times I wanted to quit. But no matter what I faced, I placed one foot in front of the other, keeping a steady pace. When the wind tried to blow me over the edge, I kept walking. When the voices inside my head screamed “stop!” I focused on my goal never letting it out of sight, and I kept moving forward. At times, I was ready to quit, but I knew I had come too far. Time and time again, I reassured myself that I was going to finish this journey. I struggled to make it to the top, but I climbed the mountain!”

“I have to be going,” my friend said. “Tomorrow is a new day to accomplish more dreams. By the way, what are you going to do tomorrow?”

I looked at him, with intensity and confidence in my eyes, and said, “I have a mountain to climb.”

Creator God gave the Sabbath Day to All Mankind.

Genesis 2:1-3 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. Andon the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and herested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

God does not want us to fall into Fanaticism or Liberalism. As Christians, we need to be in the center of the road and follow the teachings of the Holy Bible.

Fanaticism means to set up all kinds of rules. Fanaticism is dangerous as it tends to drive people away from God and out of the church.
Liberalism means breaking rules and treating God’s principles with disregard.

Isaiah 58:13-14 “If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath,
from doing your pleasure on my holy day,
and call the Sabbath a delight
and the holy day of the Lord honorable;
if you honor it, not going your own ways,
or seeking your own pleasure,  or talking idly;
14 then you shall take delight in the Lord,
and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth;
I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

Jesus promises the Holy Spirit: John 14:15 If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

Exodus 20:8-10 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lordyour God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or yourdaughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock,or the sojourner who is within your gates.

God made Holy the Seventh Day. Man cannot make a day holy. If you have to work on the Sabbath right now, trust in God. Share your faith with your employer. If the employer will not grant you the Sabbath day, God will repay you if you have to leave a job to keep the Sabbath.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever woulddraw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards thosewho seek him.

We should cease from buying and selling on the Sabbath day.
Isaiah 58:13
If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath,
from doing your pleasure on my holy day,
and call the Sabbath a delight
and the holy day of the Lord honorable;
if you honor it, not going your own ways,
or seeking your own pleasure,  or talking idly.

Nehemiah 13:15-22  Inthose days I saw in Judah people treading winepresses on the Sabbath,and bringing in heaps of grain and loading them on donkeys, and alsowine, grapes, figs, and all kinds of loads, which they brought intoJerusalem on the Sabbath day. And I warned them on the day when theysold food. 16 Tyriansalso, who lived in the city, brought in fish and all kinds of goods andsold them on the Sabbath to the people of Judah, in Jerusalem itself! 17 Then I confronted the nobles of Judah and said to them, “What is this evil thing that you are doing, profaning the Sabbath day? 18 Did not your fathers act in this way, and did not our God bring all this disaster on us and on this city? Now you are bringing more wrath on Israel by profaning the Sabbath.”

19 Assoon as it began to grow dark at the gates of Jerusalem before theSabbath, I commanded that the doors should be shut and gave orders thatthey should not be opened until after the Sabbath. And I stationed someof my servants at the gates, that no load might be brought in on theSabbath day. 20 Then the merchants and sellers of all kinds of wares lodged outside Jerusalem once or twice. 21 ButI warned them and said to them, “Why do you lodge outside the wall? Ifyou do so again, I will lay hands on you.” From that time on they didnot come on the Sabbath. 22 ThenI commanded the Levites that they should purify themselves and come andguard the gates, to keep the Sabbath day holy. Remember this also in myfavor, O my God, and spare me according to the greatness of yoursteadfast love.

Resting in the Lord:

1) Have the Right Attitude. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

2) Confession

3) Rest from Sin-Dedicate Yourself to God

4) Rest from making a living

5) Rest from the bombardment of Life-turn off televisions, radios and enjoy family with nature walks and picnics after church.

Luke 10:40-42 But Martha wasdistracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord,do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell herthen to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but one thing is necessary.  Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

Luke 23:54-56 It was the day of Preparation, and the Sabbath was beginning. 55 The women who had come with him from Galilee followed and saw the tomb and how his body was laid. 56 Then they returned and prepared spices and ointments.

On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.

Hebrews 4:1-13 Therefore, while the promise of entering hisrest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to havefailed to reach it. Forgood news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard didnot benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those wholistened. For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,

“As I swore in my wrath,
‘They shall not enter my rest,’”

although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” And again in this passage he said,

“They shall not enter my rest.”

Sincetherefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerlyreceived the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,

“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”

For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.

11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. 12 Forthe word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword,piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and ofmarrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Ezekiel 20:12 Moreover, I gave them my Sabbaths, as a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them.

Our brain cells are in our frontal lobe of the brain. This is the area of the brain where our spiritual being is located. By taking care of how we treat our bodies determines the health of those cells and your bodies overall health. God’s Holy Spirit communicates with our spiritual being. If you are not nourishing your body with good nutrition and water, your cells will not be healthy. Your spiritual being also won’t be as open to the Holy Spirit.

I have noticed a much deeper overall improvement in my spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental health since I started watching what I put in my body. I only drink distilled water and do have a decaf green tea for breakfast. Try being good to yourself for a period of time and see if you are more at peace and are slow to anger or blame. One other tip is to remove the negative media that is prevalent in today’s fast paced world. I don’t miss hearing about how many people were murdered, raped, or robbed banks in Seattle or Vancouver yesterday.
