Banana Bread With Fresh Berries

Banana Bread With Fresh Berries is a simple way to make a healthy dessert or treat at any meal you desire.

My wife Patricia and I prefer to substitute Allulose for sugar. We also use plant based milks. Right now, Soy Milk is our first choice instead of Almond Milk.

Ingredients For Making Banana Bread With Fresh Berries

2 Cups Or 240 Grams of Flour
( We Use Whole Wheat Brown Flour When In Chile, Spelt When In USA )
2 Teaspoons of Baking Powder
Pinch of Sea Salt
1/2 Cup Or 80 Grams of Raw Cane Sugar ( We Prefer Allulose Or Panela )
3 Ripe Bananas
1/3 Cup Or 80 ML Plant Milk ( We Prefer Soy Over Almond )
1/3 Cup Or 80 Grams of Oil ( We Prefer Olive Oil )
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
Berries In Season

Directions For Baking Your Bread

Mix all of your wet ingredients including the Allulose Sugar in a large mixing bowl.

Whisk your dry ingredients together long enough to mix the baking soda and salt into your flour.

Preheat your oven to 350 Farenheit or 180 Celsius.

Brush a light coat of oil in your loaf pan so the cake will not stick to the pan.

Pour your batter into your pan.

Last step is to alternate berries that are in season on the top of your cake

Bake your cake for 50 minutes and use a toothpick to see if the cake is cooked through.

What Is Allulose?

Allulose is a rare sugar that naturally occurs in fruits like figs and raisins. “It’s about 70% as sweet as sugar,” says Anthony DiMarino, a registered dietitian with the Cleveland Clinic. “So a little less sweet than normal sugar.”

Is Allulose Healthy?

The FDA states that allulose is “generally recognized as safe” (GRAS).

If you follow these suggestions, allulose can be a great replacement to regular sugar.

“What’s interesting is that it’s not metabolized by the body. It’s absorbed by the small intestine, but then actually excreted. So none of the calories get absorbed or stored in your body,” DiMarino says. “With the limited research that’s been done, it’s been found that [allulose] doesn’t have effects on blood sugars or an insulin response.”
