Vegan Brownie Tastes Great Ingredients
1 and 1/2 Cups Firm Tofu, Crumbled
1 Cup Pure Maple Syrup
1/2 Cup Honey
1/4 Cup Pure Water
Mix 3 Tablespoons of Chia Seeds In 6 Tablespoons of Pure Water. Let Stand For 5 Minutes.
2 and 1/2 Cups Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
1 Cup Carob Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Real Salt
1 Cup Chopped Walnuts
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly oil a 9 x 13 glass baking pan and set it aside. We use an organic canola oil spray we get at our local Costco warehouse.
Place the tofu, water, maple syrup, soaked chia seeds, honey and water in a blender and process until completely smooth.
Place the flour, carob powder and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Stir the ingredients together until they are thoroughly mixed.
Pour the blended mixture into the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl. Stir them until they are both well combined. Now add the chopped walnuts in and stir thoroughly.
Now pour the batter into your greased pan. Bake on the center rack of the oven for 35 to 40 minutes. You can insert a cake tester in the center and check to see if the brownies are cooked all the way.
Set the pan out on your counter and let the brownies cool in the pan. Cut and serve. In the summer, putting a scoop of vegan ice cream on top would be a nice treat.
