The Ultimate Love

This is a short summary of the key points made by Pastor Robert Taylor during his sermon on 16 February 2013 at Santa Barbara Seventh-day Adventist Christian Church.

Would you like to know how much Jesus loves you?

Read Isaiah 53. Christ suffered for us. He was oppressed and afflicted for us. He was beaten and bled for us. Christ NEVER opened His mouth to complain.

If someone beat you, your human nature would retaliate or you would try to run away. This is a great example of Fight or Flight. We would quickly determine whether to stay and fight back or run away.

Jesus never once complained or fought back. Instead He continued healing the sick, cast out devils, and healed the blind. Jesus accepted the abuse He received. Why did Jesus just stand there and take the abuse? The answer is it comes down to the issue of Love.

God loves us so much. The most known Bible scripture of course is John 3:16. Keep reading in verse 17 and you will understand the Outrageous Love He has for us.

John 3:16-17
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Jesus stepped out of heaven to come and seek YOU. You are not just another face in the crowd.

Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It was never about religion. It is all about relationship with Him. Even the Devil knows the Bible. Receive God’s Grace. Do not waste time trying to earn grace. The price has already been paid at Calvary when Christ was crucified.

Jesus stands at the door of our hearts and knocks.

Three ways to receive Jesus and His Love:
1. You are lovable-Just fall into Jesus arms.
2. Relationship-Spend time studying your Bible and in Prayer.
3. Receive His Love and Grace.
