Avoid Holiday Weight Gain

Avoid Holiday Weight Gain

Avoid holiday weight gain by making some easy changes to your eating habits and you will feel and look great all year. Many people gain 10 pounds or more from late November through the first of January. Before you go overboard this year at the dinner table, watch this video.

Did you know that the average North American gains around 10 pounds from Thanksgiving through the New Year’s Holiday?

Most weight gain occurs when people keep eating more than their body needs on a daily basis. For many years, I had a typical American diet and would be hungry in just 2 hours or less after eating some fast food.

T’he key to keeping from eating too much food & being hungry all the time is give your body the nutrients it needs.

You won’t have to go buy new clothes!

You will feel great during the holidays and will have a large advantage over the millions of people that make New Years Resolutions each year to lose weight. Many people that gain weight drastically increase their chances of developing cancer or diabetes.

If you already are diagnosed with cancer, diabetes, or obesity, you can use the steps I lay out in the video to start the process of losing the weight and help your body fight off the cancer. Many people reverse their diabetes by losing weight and getting into a daily exercise program!

  • One of the best ways to be able to turn down some of the tempting holiday goodies is to eat something healthy and filling before visiting our family and friends. That smoothie is an excellent idea for filling up and snacking on thru out the day and more nutritional than all those holiday sweets. It will definitely help with cravings … you’ll eat less and feel much better.

    • Hello Barbara,
Great idea about reducing the food cravings. Sugar is addictive. We can satisfy our sweet cravings by eating some tropical fruits through a fruit smoothie. The natural fructose is much healthier than white sugar! Enjoy your holidays!

Daniel, yes it is scary how quickly people pick up weight over the festive season. Each year it becomes harder to shed the weight so it is really a good idea to keep a lid on the over indulgence during this time.

    • Hello Neil,
One other tip to add to the discussion is if we all stopped eating when we felt 80 percent full, no one would be overweight. North Americans are the most overfed and undernourished society that exists on the planet.

Great tip Daniel. Eat until 80% full and drink some water to maintain that satiated feeling.

        • Hello Neil,
When I drink a glass of pure distilled water that also has electrolytic minerals ( pure sea salt ), my hunger and appetite is reduced. It is not easy to portion out the proper amount of food. I know that as I grow older, I need to reduce the amount of food I am eating to prevent overeating!
