Pioneers in Health

Dr. Harvey Wiley

Learned something new this week while participating in the best home based business in the world. Dr. Harvey Wiley was a chemist who lived between 1844 – 1930. Dr. Wiley served in the Union Army during the Civil War. He then completed college at Indiana Medical College as a Medical Doctor. Dr. Wiley served his country as the First Commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration.

Dr. Wiley provided leadership and helped pass the landmark Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906. Dr. Wiley knew one hundred years ago that preservatives in food and drugs in sodasĀ are bad for the human body. Dr. Wiley’s work continues today as many Naturopathic Doctors understand that eating processed foods and drinking soda and coffee is not healthy for the human body.

Dr. John Tilden

Dr. Tilden was the son of a physician. He studied at Eclectic Medical Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated in 1872. Dr. TildenĀ earned a Degree of Doctor of Medicine. He practiced in Illinois and St. Louis before relocating to Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Tilden studied the body and how to keep the body free of disease. He specialized in Toxemia and how to rid the body of toxic poison. He wrote a book titled “Toxemia Exposed”. Dr. Tilden is a hero for those of us that believe in Natural Healing. Our world is more toxic now in the 21st century and we owe a debt of gratitude for Dr. Tilden’s research and practice.
