Those 4 statements above is how I lost 70 pounds in 2000 and have kept it off since. I read and studied about nutrition and gradually replaced animal products in my diet with LIVE food. Live food is food that is abundant in enzymes, minerals, phytonutrients, plant proteins, and vitamins. Here is the definition of Phytonutrients from the Ask.com search engine: Any of various bioactive chemical compounds found in plants, as antioxidants, considered to be beneficial to human health.

Permanent Weight LossWhen a person eats junk food ( chips, cookies, doughnuts and twinkies ), their body has not received the nutrition it needs to function properly. Ever notice how someone that goes and eats a super sized meal of double bacon cheeseburger with large fries and a large coke gets sleepy? There body has just taken in a large amount of fat, sodium and sugar. Two hours later the person is starving because their body did not get any nutrition from the meal. Watch the video below and you will understand why nutrition is the main issue with people that have obesity problems.

I ate animal products for over 40 years until I learned a basic principle. Cattle graze on grains all day long. When we eat animal products, we are getting second hand nutrition. The cows process the grains and then we eat hamburgers, steaks and consume dairy products. Why not get your nutrition straight from the source?   • Wow !  You sure loaded that blender up with quite a few good nutritious things and you made me hungry so I'm going to make up one of those smoothies right now.  I know I have some frozen fruit in the freezer.
    Your four health tips are right on too.  Very basic and down to earth tips.  You don't need pills, potions and expensive gyms.  Small changes can make a big difference.

  • To get the ideal body does not have to go through an agonizing loss diet, but simply by following a healthy lifestyle, eating three times a day, regular exercise and adequate rest. Maybe it sounds simple but it really means a lot.

    • You are right Win…If I sit on the couch all day and eat chips, pizza and ice cream and think I will lose weight, I am living in a fantasy world. You cannot take diet pills and potions and succeed with a weight loss program by eating the same foods that got you in the overweight condition in the first place.

    Hi Daniel,
    Good that you bring light on this topic. I see many people do dieting but not in a proper way, they just stop taking enough foods that are essential requirement of body and don’t do any exercise and think that they stay fit and maintain weight. I think it makes your body weaker, you might look smart but you become weak inside and it’s not good for health.

    • Yes, Pete. A hundred years ago, everyone used their bodies. Many people were growing gardens. Now many people have a sedentary lifestyle. There is nothing wrong with our new jobs as long as people take care of their bodies when they are not working.

    Interesting point about getting your nutrition straight from source rather than animal products.  I've lost a lot of weight recently through a breakup, but want to keep it off now.  However my partner used to do most of the cooking and sometimes I get lazy but this post has inspired me to get down the shop and get some veggies!

    I agree, for me dieting does not have to be a task. I made sure that my diet plan was going to be fun and it was not long that I realized that I reached my desired weight. It was hard at first yet now I consider it my new way of life and I am happier.

    Losing weight seems an easy term but the hardest term to perform. There are many people who have undergone weight loss surgery, program, exercises, etc. but, still failed to attain their desired weight and figure. 

    • Charmaine, I found that changing what I put in my mouth is the permanent solution, not surgery, pills or potions. I cannot lose weight permanently by taking a diet pill and continue to sit on the couch eating pizza and ice cream. I have heard thousands of people tell me that the steps I share work and they feel so much more energy and are happy with their bodies now.

    I totally agree with you Daniel! As a weight loss coach it is really important to follow those 4 basic fundamentals if one wants to loss weight effectively. Shedding pounds is not easy and it takes a real commitment for the program to be effective and it doesn't have to be so complicated like dieting and food restrictions. It's just that we need to lessen the calories we intake but enough to sustain our daily nutritional needs.

    • Thanks for sharing your wisdom Nichole! The interesting thing I learned is there are not that many calories in fruits and vegetables. A cup of fresh concord grapes has 62 calories. The European varieties have 104. The average candy bar has over 250 calories or more. We can satisfy sugar cravings by eating fruits that God provided and avoid man made sugar products.

    I found the best way that I can stay in shape is to not go for the fast way but the slow steady way. I do diets I know I can maintain and I exercise at a level I enjoy. On top of that I just try to push myself the extra step so I can continually become healthier.

    • It takes same amount of time to eat proper foods as it does to eat food that has no nutrition. I am fixing a bowl of whole grain oatmeal right now and will add a teaspoon of cinnamon and a dash of pure honey. I add a few frozen blueberries on top. This is great fuel for my body to have energy to get started today. I also recommend drinking a couple of glasses of pure water first thing in the morning. If I chose to eat some sugar filled donuts and had some coffee loaded with caffeine, in a couple of hours I would be starving and then my first reaction would be to go grab some unhealthy chips or candy bars. Now I see why I was overweight until I took action back in 2000 and started eating the right way. I am the same weight now as I was in high school years ago!

    You are the same weight now as you were in high school? That is remarkable. Just reading about that bowl of whole grain oatmeal with some cinnamon and honey has my mouth watering. I guess I shouldn’t be reading these posts before breakfast, lol. I can definitely see why I am overweight!

      My suggestion is gradually remove the foods that are high in fat and have no fiber ( animal products ). By moving to a plant based diet, your body gets nutrition and that way you feel satisfied and are not hungry. Add in the pure water and exercise and you will see the weight come off.
