Red Meat and Colon Cancer

Red Meat and Colon Cancer

Welcome to my red meat and colon cancer post. Two large studies about red meat consumption began in 2005. One was a very large study of Europeans and the other was a study conducted here in the United States. All of the participants were cancer free at the beginning of the studies.

  • Those are great tips from Harvard Medical.  It's a shame that many of us don't learn to take better care of ourselves until later in life when some damage may already be done …  but today is always a good time to start.

The thing about meat is that it rots, whether it's inside the colon or not. So, if you're going to be eating a lot of meat, it's best to eat items that are high in fiber with it (broccoli, spinach, etc.), like the article suggests. That way a great quantity of the meat that is not absorbed is pushed completely through the colon, and is not allowed to sit in the bowels and rot (contributing to cancer).

    • Yes, Wayne. Food that is not absorbed can get lodged on the colon wall. Many diseases begin in a dirty colon. That is why I have used a gentle herbal tonic ( tea ) every day for 5 years now. The tonic cleans all the soft tissues of the body including the colon.

You are right too often eat red meat will lead to cancer later in life, especially if it is not balanced with eating lots of vegetables and fruits. the more rapid and serious disease that will arise. Disease that typically arise include high blood pressure, obesity, constriction of blood vessels to cancer.

It is actually quite scary reading that Harvard Medical School post! I live in a large meat eating country where BBQ’s are held virtually every weekend throughout then year. I was really not aware of the link between colon cancer and red meat. I am going to do some research on this particular subject, mainly to warn my two sons, who just love having a BBQ at every occasion.

  • This is known by everyone that red meat is risky & increases the risk factors for cancer. But all after many people eat red meat. Have you any answer about it? And of course, detoxing body daily takes us far from diseases.

    • Hello Karen,
I chose to avoid red meat and focus on a plant based diet to get the nutrition that my body needs. I ate red meat for around 40 years and was over weight when I decided to eliminate the red meat. I have never struggled with my weight since.

      • Thanks Daniel,
I agree with you that red meat and other oily, fatty is the only reason of obesity. And I am happy to hear that you left red meat.
